Easter Gift Tags

Hey there crafty friends!

Hope you all are doing well and practicing your social distancing. To make the best of this time at home, I’ve been spending a lot of time in my craft room making projects. I’ve gotten several projects completed and I’m now sharing my designs with all of you.

Today I am showcasing these cute Easter tags using the adorable Spellbinder’s die, “Truckin’ Through the Seasons.” I’ve showcased this die once before with some cards I made several months back. Now today, this little guy is making a second debut on my blog with my Easter themed gift tags.

I love the versatility of this die. This little truck is perfect for just about any holiday and occasion. Although the die set does not come with accessories for Easter, you can still create this theme using dies from your stash. I’m using the mini carrots from the Lawn Fawn Garden Stitched Border die to create the Easter theme. The sentiment comes from the Some Bunny stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and the entire truck image is popped up on foam tape and placed onto of my favorite Stitched Scalloped Tag from Papertrey Ink.

I simply adore how these tags turned out. Here’s the perfect Easter tag to tie onto a bag of treats and gift to a friend or family member.

Fab Flower Bouquet

Getting a jumpstart on my Mother’s Day’s crafting, today I am showcasing a card I made using a few stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn.

The flower arrangement was stamped and cut from the Lawn Fawn “Fab Flowers” stamp and die set. This set is a layering stamp set which allows you to add shadows and dimension to each of the flower petals. I used my altenew ink pads in shades of pink, red and yellow to create the layered color effect on the flowers. Some of the flowers were popped up with 3M foam tape for added dimension.

The jar for this card comes from the popular Lawn Fawn “How You Bean” add on die set. I used my Copic markers in BG10 and BG70 to add the look of water to the jar.

The sentiment comes from the Happy, Happy, Happy stamps and die set and was stamped in Versamark Black Onxy ink. I used the Fancy Folded Banner die set for the Mother’s Day portion of the sentiment and popped it up on foam tape. The polk-a-dot pattern paper comes from the Doodlebug “Love Notes” 6×6 paper pad.

Lawn Fawn Stitched Cupcake

Happy Monday Everyone, I hope your week is off to a good start!

This past weekend I decided to pull out my Lawn Fawn Stitched Cupcake die set and Happy, Happy, Happy stamps set to make few birthday cards to replenish my birthday card stash.

Today’s card design was much inspired by Nichol Sphor’s card using this same Stitched Cupcake die set from Lawn Fawn. You can checkout Nicole’s card and video tutorial here.

Because I loved Nicole’s design so much, I decided to case her card with a slight twist. The background of my card was die cut from a scrap piece of yellow cardstock using the Chicken Scratch Coverplate die from Papertrey ink. This cover plate is A2 card size and perfect for card fronts.

The cupcakes and strawberries were die cut from the Lawn Fawn “Stitched Cupcake” die set. The cherries and stems are die cut from the Lawn Fawn ” I Scream, You Scream” die set. I embellished the cupcakes with crystal clear Stickles to create the sugared look. I added white gel pen details to the cherries for added dimension. I decided to leave off the glossy accents that Nicole included on her card.

The sentiment on my card comes from the Lawn Fawn “Happy, Happy, Happy” stamp and die set. I stamped and die cut the word Happy using my Versamark Black Onyx ink and popped the letters up with some foam tape onto a vellum strip for added dimension. I heat embossed the word “birthday” with my Versamark ink and Ranger fine detail embossing power. I like adding sentiments to vellum strips as it allows your to read the sentiment but not distract from the focal image of the card.

This card turned out super cute and was fun to make. It is a very die cut heavy card and a bit time consuming to make. However, the end results are stunning a worth the labor involved.

Confetti Heart Plate

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

Today I am back on the Poppystamps blog showcasing my last Valentine’s Day card for 2020. Today’s card features the Confetti Heart Plate and the Love Outline die from our January release.

If you’re in need of quick last minute Valentine’s Day card for someone, you can easily put together this cutie in no time flat. To get started, die cut the Confetti heart plate from a piece of white cardstock. This die is perfectly sized to 4.25 x 5.5 inches, which the same size of an A2 card.

Now cut a strip of black cardstock to 1.75 x 4.25 inch strip with your paper trimmer. Then using the newly released Love outline die to cut the sentiment outline from a scrap piece of white cardstock and the sentiment layer with a piece of red cardstock. Next layer the red love sentiment on top of the white outline and secure the two pieces together with your favorite liquid or tape runner adhesive.

Next grab a sheet of red and white polk a dot patterned paper and cut it to A2 size. I’m using a piece of red polka dot paper from the Memory Box Dashing Stripes and Dots 6×6 paper pad. Cut your patterned paper to 4.25 x5.5 inches and adhere it to your card base. Then place the Heart plate die cut piece on top of your patterned paper. Isn’t this stunning! Instant decorative background with no ink blending involved.

Adhere the two toned love sentiment on top of your back cardstock strip. Pop up your sentiment strip onto your confetti heart plate with some 3M foam tape.

Viola, your card is done! Wasn’t that quick and easy.

Love Stitch Circle Shaker

Hey there crafty friends,

Today I am featured on the Poppystamps blog sharing a shaker card tutorial using the Love Stitch Circle Frame die and the Memory Box Drifting Hearts stencil. This card is perfect for Valentine’s Day or any occasion for which you want to express your love.

To get started take a piece of white cardstock measuring 5.7 inches tall x 4.5 inches wide and sponge on some Spun Sugar Distress oxide ink with your ink blending tool.

Next place the Memory Box stencil, Drifting Hearts on top of your Spun Sugar cardstock panel and sponge the heart images onto your paper using Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Barn Door distress inks. Add each of the colors in order from lightest to darkest making sure to blend each of the colors together to avoid any harsh lines.

Now take your Double Stitched Rectangle Frame die and die cut a frame and inner panel from your heart stencil cardstock. The Double Stitched Rectangle frame will create the perfect A2 size card front panel.

Next die cut the Love Stitch Circle Frame once from a scrap piece of red cardstock and then again from a scrap piece of white cardstock. Snip away the love sentiment from the red scalloped circle frame, leaving just the frame behind. Adhere the red scalloped frame onto the white Love Stitch Circle Frame to create a two toned effect.

Next using a circle die or punch from you stash, cut a 3 inch circle from a piece of clear acetate. Adhere the acetate to the back of the two toned frame using some strong adhesive. I used 1/8th inch score tape.

With some 3M foam tape, cut a thin strip of adhesive foam long enough to go the entire perimeter of your scallop frame. Adhere your foam tape to back of your scalloped circle frame. Remember to double up on the adhesive so that there is enough clearance for your shaker bits to shake. Brush a bit of your embossing buddy on the inside of your adhesive foam to prevent the shaker bits from sticking to the sides. Now add your sequence or shaker bits. I am using Sprinkletz sweetheart embellishments.

Remove the backing tape from the foam adhesive and add your stenciled card front to the shaker frame. Add your shaker card front panel onto an A2 side folding cardbase and your shaker card is now done!

Poppystamps Giveaway

Hey there crafty friends,

Today I am on the PoppyStamps Blog sharing a Valentine’s Day card I recently made. You will want to make sure you stop by their blog and leave a comment because you will have a chance to win the Hugs Heart Craft die, featured on this card.

To make this card you will need the Poppystamps Scribble Daisy Heart Frame and Hugs Heart Craft die. These two dies when paired together are a match made in heaven. The Hugs Heart Craft die easily layers on top of the Scribble Daisy Heart Frame to create a beautiful focal point image and sentiment.

Both dies contain frames for which the inner pieces can be used interchangeably to create a colorful inlaid look.

To make my card, I first die cut the scribble frame from a piece of white cardstock; then again from a piece of light pink cardstock. I adhered the white frame to a plain piece of white cardstock that was the same size as the frame. Next I inlaid the pink petals from the pink scribble frame die cut onto the flower outlines on the white scribble frame.

I then die cut the hugs heart die first from a piece of hot pink cardstock and again from a piece of light pink cardstock. I removed the Hugs sentiment and flower petal pieces from the hot pink cardstock and adhered the hot pink heart panel onto of the white heart from the Scribble frame. Next I inlaid the light pink petals from the light pink hug heart die cut onto the hot pink cardstock piece.

I popped the entire inlaid panel onto a piece of 4.25 x 5.5 white cardstock that I embossed with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. For some added dimension and texture to the card, I die cut the largest frame from the Double Stitch Rectangle Frames and added it as decorative border to my card front. Next I die cut the Splendid Stitched Hearts die from some light pink cardstock and added a cluster of hearts to the corners of the card.

This card is packed with dimension. I just love all of the stitching on these die cut pieces. Thanks for joining me today. Until next time.

Creep It Real

Happy Halloween Everyone!

To celebrate the holiday, I am showcasing a Halloween card made with the Spellcaster Witch and Magical Cauldron dies that were made with Stamps and Dies from the Poppystamps September release. I just love the little spooky witch die and how she coordinates with the cauldron to appear as though she is making spooky witches brew!

The background of today’s card was made using my distress oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed. I used these colors to mimic the popular Pastel Halloween theme that I love so much. I sprinkled some water onto the background piece to create that beautiful oxidation, then dried my cardstock with a piece of paper towel. Next, I die cut the witch, cauldron and frame using some black cardstock from my stash. I also die cut the cauldrom from my inked background piece to emboss the steam from the cauldron onto the paper.

I then adhered the die cut witch and the black cauldron to the colored cardstock piece with some foam tape. Next I used my wink of stella glitter pen on the witch to give the witch a bit of sparkle.

I then stamped the sentiment, Creep It Real, from the Halloween Fun stamp set onto a piece of white cardstock in black Versafine ink. I created some banner tails on the white cardstock, then adhered the piece onto my card front with some foam tape.

I just love the color combination of this card and how quick and easy it all came together. I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Have a great day and Happy Halloween!

Halloween Treat Bag Topper

Hi Everyone,

With Halloween just a few short days away, I wanted to share with you this too cute to spook Halloween treat bag toppers that I created for my Poppystamps design team project. These cute Pastel Halloween treat bag toppers will be used to package up a few Halloween treats for my coworkers. Now if you’re not familiar with Pastel Halloween, which is a new trend for Halloween, its simply taking the Halloween theme and decorating in pastel colors like pink, purple and teal instead of traditional orange, green and dark purple. The idea is for Halloween to be more cute instead of scary and gory. I love anything pastel, so designing with a Pastel Halloween theme is right up my alley.

To create my treats bag toppers, I first cut a piece of black cardstock to 4.25 inches wide x 4.5 inches long. Then I folded and scored the cardstock on the 4.5 side in half at 2.25. inches. Next I cut each of my pastel pink, purple and teal pieces of cardstock with the zig zag stripes die. I then assembled the zig zag stripe pattern onto the folded black cardstock base using a piece of each of the three pastel colors.

Next I cut out two ghosts from the Scary Ghost die and adhered them to the bag topper with some foam tape. I then cut a strip of black cardstock and stamped the sentiment A Halloween Hello from the Halloween fun stamp set in Versamark ink. I sprinkled on some white embossing powder over the inked sentiment and heat embossed it. I adhered the sentiment on top of the Zig Zag stripes with some foam tape. Viloa! Now you have a cute Pastel Halloween Treat Bag Topper to dress up your gifts.

This project was so easy and fun to make. I made several of these bag toppers and attached them to the top of my treat bags filled them with a mixture of with halloween themed goodies. Some of my bags contained halloween themed chocolates, while others contained halloween themed magnetic list pads and pencils. For the bags that contained the chocolates, I used the celebrated brand treat bags from Michaels. For you next gift, try dressing up your packaging with a cute bag topper.

Poppystamps Holiday Blog Blitz

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are enjoying your day. Today I am sharing a project I made for the Poppystamps Holiday and Winter Blog Blitz. On September 1, 2019, I became an now official member of the Poppystamps design team. I am so excited to be amongst these talented ladies creating projects for the awesome stamps and dies from Poppystamps.

Today’s project is a quick and easy tag showcasing items from the Poppystamps September release. For those of you who like to get a jump start on Christmas, this clean and simple tag can easily be massed produced for your Holiday gift packaging.

To get started, you will need the second to largest tag frame from the Double Stitch Tag Frames along with our new Warm Wishes Gift Card Cup and Magical Cauldron dies. First I die cut the Tag and frame from a piece of Kraft card stock using my Gemni Junior die cutting machine. With the tag die cut, I placed the cauldron die in the center of the cards stock ensuring the steam was placed near the top of the tag. I then die cut cauldron from the tag.

Next I took the Warm Wishes Gift Card Cup die and cut the cup twice; once from a white piece of card stock and then again from a chocolate piece of card stock. With some scissors I cut the warm wishes sentiment from each of the cups. With my distress ink blending tool, I color the white cup die cut with some candied apple distress oxide ink and colored the white warm wishes sentiment with mowed lawn distress oxide ink.

Next I adhered the green colored sentiment onto my candied colored cup with some 3M foam tape. I then outlined the sentiment with my black micron pen to make the sentiment pop. To assemble the tag, I placed the tag frame and tag onto a piece of white card stock with some liquid glue and trimmed the edges with my scissors.

I then adhered the cup onto the tag right over the die cut caldron with some 3M foam tape. Don’t you just love how the cup looks as though it has steam coming from it. Next I took the brown warm wishes die cut and placed that onto of the tag just above the cup with some foam tape. To embellish the cup with the appearance of whip cream, I took my Marvy snow marker and brushed some white ink over the sentiment. Then I heated the ink with my heat gun to make it puff up like whip cream

For the finishing touches on the tag, I whole punched a circle at the top of the tag and added some lime green ribbon and christmas theme twine from my stash. I really liked how this tag turned out and how quickly it all came together.

Jen Shurkus: Get Cracking On Christmas Challenge

Hey there crafty friends, thanks for joining me today!

While scrolling through Instagram the other day, I came across a card making challenge to help me get a jump start on my Christmas cards for the holiday season. The challenge I came across is called “Get Cracking On Christmas,” hosted by the talented Jenn Shurkus, creativity teacher for Lawn Fawn stamps and author of the blog Creative Chick.

After watching Jenn’s Instagram story, I learned she and her pals Cherion Brandon, and Chari Moss each year make a Christmas card or project a month to prepare for their holiday card gifting. By crafting Christmas all year long, once December arrives, the ladies have at least 12 complete holiday cards a piece to send to family and friends. Every third Thursday of the month you can catch Jenn and friends showcasing their Christmas cards and projects they make on their blogs and under the Instagram hashtag #getcrackinonchristmas.

I have decided to join the challenge and too “Get Crackin’ On Christmas.” From now and until December, I too will create at least one Christmas card a month and showcase the project on my blog, Instagram and Pinterest page. This challenge will help me to also build my stash of cards for the coming holiday season.

My first project, is a set of four cards featuring the popular stamp and die set, “Thanks A Latte,” from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the mugs, candy canes, heart, snowflake, marshmallows and whip topping with my Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored each mage in with my Copic markers. I used various shades of red, pink, blue green and cool gray markers to color the images.

After coloring, I cut each image with their coordinating die and adhered the image to my card with 3M dimensional foam tape. I used my Sakura white gel pen to add a few accent details to the images to make them pop. Then I stamped the word Merry form the Hero Arts Merry Stamp and Cut set in Lady Bug Memento Ink and the word Christmas in Verafine Onyx black ink.

I really enjoyed making these cards. I am no expert with Copic coloring, but I thinkI did a pretty good job for not being taught any Copic coloring techniques.
